|  | | John Ringen | | | | | John Ringen holds a BA in Art Education and a MFA in painting from the University of Washingon He is past president of both the Northwest Watercolor Society and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters.
For the past forty years, John has been teaching classes and workshops throughout the Northwest and Canada. His loose, impressionistic painting style has made him a frequent award winner in juried competitions. January 2009 meeting
He regards himself simply as an artist who records his visual impressions and feelings, a reaction painter. John enthusiastically proclaims that there is nothing quite as exciting, challenging, or rewarding as attacking a crisp white sheet of watercolor paper. And he finds that this is also true even on days when the sky is gray, the landscape flat, and his precious watercolors mysteriously turn to mud.
